Ανακηρύχτηκαν τα 50 καλύτερα εστιατόρια της Βρετανίας στον Good Food Guide με την πρωτιά να πηγαίνει –μεταξύ άλλων- και σε γυναικεία χέρια.

Στον Good Food Guide για το 2014, τον οδηγό που βραβεύει τα καλύτερα εστιατόρια, cafe και pub της Βρετανίας, τρία εστιατόρια πήραν δεκάρι ως τα καλύτερα, ενώ 10/10 πήρε και μια γυναίκα σεφ, μετά το 15 χρόνια που είχε να βρεθεί… θηλυκό σε αυτή τη θέση.

Τα εύσημα ανήκουν στην Clare Smyth, σεφ του Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, ενώ τα άλλα δύο εστιατόρια που πήραν «άριστα» είναι το The Fat Duck του Heston Blumenthal, το Restaurant Gordon Ramsay και το L'Enclume του Simon Rogan's, που βρίσκεται στο δεύτερο χρόνο λειτουργίας του. 

Είναι η πρώτη φορά μετά από 15 χρόνια που συμβαίνει κάτι τέτοιο, μετά το 1999 όπου την τιμή είχαν μοιραστεί το Oak Room (Marco Pierre White), το Chez Nico (Nico Ladenis), με την Gunn Eriksen του Altnaharrie Inn.

Το εστιατόριο Fat Duck που βγήκε δεύτερο, κατακτά το δεκάρι τα τελευταία 7 συναπτά έτη, κατακτώντας το «άριστα» πιο πολύ από κάθε άλλο εστιατόριο που έχει βραβεύσει ο οδηγός με το τωρινό του βαθμολογικό σύστημα.
